Accessible Michigan, an unhidden gem
Water color, 4 x 6
My entry is a water color painting of one of Michigan’s many natural wonders, a bog that promotes biodiversity. This piece reminds us that even the most mundane natural scenes have beauty, and should be accessible to all.
My name is Arias and I am a trans and autistic watercolor artist from Southwest Michigan. I paint watercolor landscapes to bring attention that nature should be accessible for everyone, regardless of ability, or support needs. I myself use a crutch or a wheelchair to get around, so all of the places I paint are places that are personally accessible to me. Disability is such a natural part of the human experience, it only makes sense that we belong in nature too!
