The Public Relations Committee is the voice of SAM in the public sphere. This committee manages our social media presence, including the SAM website and Facebook page, and helps share the stories, achievements, and priorities of self advocates across Michigan. Through clear communication and thoughtful outreach, the Public Relations Committee strengthens SAM’s visibility and helps our message reach a wider audience.
What the Public Relations Committee Does
The committee leads the marketing and communications for all SAM events, trainings, and initiatives. Members help craft
messages that highlight the importance of disability advocacy, promote upcoming opportunities, and celebrate the work of SAM members. This outreach helps build awareness, engage supporters, and ensure that self advocate voices are represented in the broader community.
By shaping how SAM is seen and understood, the Public Relations Committee plays a key role in advancing our mission and connecting with new allies.
